Hi, I’m Yomaa, a native Korean speaker. I started Real Korean 4U to share the Korean that textbooks often skip: how people actually talk, text, and read between the lines.
Why This Blog Exists
Many learners can explain a grammar rule perfectly and still sound a little off in real conversation. Sometimes the problem is not the grammar at all. It is tone, the relationship between speakers, or a hidden meaning that every Korean hears but nobody writes down.
That gap is what this blog is about. Every post starts with a question learners really ask, like “Why does 너 sound rude?” or “Is ㅋ different from ㅋㅋㅋ?”, and answers it the way a Korean friend would.
What You’ll Find Here
- Grammar: confusing pairs explained with simple rules and real examples.
- Everyday Korean: texting, slang, and what to call people.
- Nuance: the tone, politeness, and hidden meanings natives hear.
How Posts Are Made
Every example sentence is checked by a native speaker for how natural it sounds today, not just whether it is grammatically correct. When something depends on age, region, or the situation, the post says so.
